Hand-painted Drops
March 20, 2019The Ives Auditorium is home to 70+ hand-painted Masonic “drops” (stage backdrops), scenery painted by Thomas G. Moses (1856–1934) in the first half of the 20th Century. The drops were made available from the sale of the Valley of Fort Scott Scottish Rite building in Kansas in 2015. The collection includes multiple-piece scenes that can be displayed to give a three-dimensional stage presentation.
